Sega started out with their Sega Genesis and took off from there. Sega was a constant rival of Nintendo for several years, the two of them competing for best system. Sega quit making systems in generation 6 with their Sega Dreamcast after the competition got too steep with Sony's Playstation 2 and Nintendo's GameCube. Sega had created some new innovations in their day, being the first to make online play available through the DreamCast.
