The Playstation was, and still is, a system that everybody wanted. It's graphics and sound were great, it was one of the first systems to make disc-style games look good (Now, I don't want to get a bunch of hate mail from you Sega Saturn lovers. Sega Saturn had it's perks, but the Playstation won in overall graphics and sound). This was one of the first systems able to have games with full voice acting (Not that Mario going "Hwa, ha, hi-ya!" in Super Mario 64 isn't catchy) and succesfully use dual analog sticks and built-in rumble motors.
The only problems with these babies back then was that the lenses sometimes got stuck, or the disc ring thingy that holds the games would warp/break.
